After matchday 5 and 6 were postponed, the 2022 CONMEBOL Zone World Cup Qualification resumed on matchday 7. The Brazil vs Ecuador match was held at the Estadio Beira-Rio, Porto Alegre, Brazil, Saturday (5/6/2021) morning WIB.
Using its core players, including Neymar and Alisson, Brazil won 2-0. Richarlison’s goal in the 65th minute and Neymar’s penalty in injury time sealed the three points for the hosts.
The victory ensures Brazil is getting stronger in the first position in the CONMEBOL Zone with 15 points from 5 matches. Meanwhile, Ecuador is stuck in third place with 9 points, behind Argentina, which has 11 points.

The game was tight from the start. Ecuador appeared disciplined, and made Neymar cs get into trouble.
The first attempt could even be done by Ecuador in the 12th minute. Carlos Gruezo has space to shoot from outside the penalty box, but his efforts can still be blocked.
