Manchester United failed to win when they faced Premier League promotion team Brentford in a friendly match at Old Trafford, Thursday (29/2/2021) WIB.
However, the match which ended with a score of 2-2 was also decorated with a spectacular goal scored by Manchester United attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira.
Manchester United started the game convincingly. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops took the lead through Anthony Elanga in the 12th minute.
The goal came after left-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka sent a cross from the right for Elangan to finish with a measured shot into the bottom corner of the Brentford goal.
But United failed to maintain that advantage any longer. The Red Devils’ goal was immediately conceded 10 minutes later by Ivan Toney to make the score 1-1 at half-time.
In the second half, Manchester United scored again quickly. Five minutes into the second half, Andreas Pereira scored an incredible goal.
After Jesse Lingard’s shot was parried by goalkeeper David Raya, the ball then tried to be discarded by Ethan Pinnock with a header.
The wild ball then rolled out of the penalty box. Andreas Pereira, who was there, met the ball with a powerful volley which slid headlong into the crossbar before being declared in.
However, Brentford refused to give up. They scored again in the 78th minute to force the game to a 2-2 draw.
